What does a handyman handle in Holmdel?

Local record

Three things on file about houses here

01

No public water, no public sewer

Large parts of Holmdel have no public water or sewage service at all. The zoning requires each principal building to have its own subsurface septic facility on the same lot, and communal sewage treatment is prohibited outright — which is also why the lots are as large as they are. If the property has a private well, New Jersey’s Private Well Testing Act requires testing at the point of sale.

02

Acre-lot ranches, then 1980s estate houses

The wooded parts of the township were developed with ranch and colonial houses on roughly acre lots between the 1950s and the 1970s. In the 1980s a great deal of the remaining farmland went to very large houses and estate-style builds. Those two generations need almost nothing in common: one is at the age where original systems are failing, the other has scale and complexity instead.

A 472-acre landmark in the middle of it

Bell Telephone Laboratories bought farmland here in 1929, and the Bell Labs Holmdel Complex still occupies about 472 acres at the centre of the township, now redeveloped as Bell Works. It shapes the road pattern and the character of the surrounding neighbourhoods more than any downtown does.

5 out of 5 on our Google Business Profile

  • I’m so glad to have The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman out and repair my kitchen cabinets. The previous homeowner did not use the correct screws and even missed the studs on some of them. All secure and up to code now. He finished a little early and asked what else he could look at and cleaned out the tub drain too.

  • I called on The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman Services once again. This time I needed drywall repair. The texture that was applied to the ceilings during construction of this house — over time the texture started to release and some of it fell. I tried to repair this myself but had no luck. I’m not permitted to use ladders anymore since I have the tendency to fall off. That’s why I called the Handyman. He fixed all my texture that was falling. He also inspected the rest of my ceiling to check for any cracking so he could prevent another collapse. I have to tell you; this outfit is top notch.
