Policy

Terms & conditions

What a quote means, what we take on and what we hand to a specialist, and what happens if something we did does not hold.

01

Who these terms bind

These terms sit between Trusty Monmouth Handyman and whoever books the work. They begin when a quote is accepted and a time is agreed, and they cover that job only — booking a second job later starts them again.

02

Quoting on the call, and when we look first

Most jobs are quoted when you call and describe the work — free, in writing, and usually without a visit. Where the scope is bigger or something is hidden behind a wall, we may need to look first; we say so on the call. If the work opens up and what is behind it differs from what we quoted — rot under a sill, a pipe run nobody knew about — we stop, tell you what has changed and what it now costs, and wait for your answer before carrying on. No chargeable work happens without your say-so.

03

Work that is not ours

Service panel work, gas, and anything structural belong to a licensed specialist rather than a handyman. Where a job turns out to be one of those we say so plainly, usually on the first call, and we do not charge for saying it. Naming the right trade is part of the service — it costs us the job and saves you a bad one.

04

Access and conditions on site

We need to get to the property at the time agreed and to the area being worked on. Where something outside our control stops the work safely proceeding — a stop tap that will not close, live services where none were expected, a surface that will not bear weight — we stop and agree the next step with you rather than improvising around it.

05

Moving or cancelling a visit

We answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and book around what the job needs. If you need to move or cancel, call as early as you can and we will find another time.

06

Payment

Payment falls due once the work is finished and you are satisfied it is done, unless a larger job has been agreed on different terms in advance and in writing.

07

Standing behind the work

If something we fitted or repaired fails because of the way we did it, call and we will come back and make it right. That covers our own labour. It does not extend to parts or appliances supplied by others, which carry their own manufacturer terms, nor to fair wear, accidental damage, or later work by another trade.

08

Insurance

We are insured, and we will confirm it on request. We claim nothing else — no rating, no award, no years-in-business figure — because nothing else has been verified.

09

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of New Jersey.

10

If these terms change

A revised version appears on this page. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published on the day you booked it.
