Three feet of freeboard, where the state asks for one
The borough requires three feet of freeboard on structures in the floodplain — a full two feet above what the state asks for. That standard was written into the local ordinance after the record flooding of 2012, and it is the single rule that shapes work on a house here more than any other, because it dictates how high both the structure and its mechanical plant have to sit.
