In short

What does a handyman handle in Sea Girt?

Here: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, painting and general repair in Sea Girt, from a West Long Branch base. Sea Girt is small and the streets are tight — mention access if the property is hard to get a van alongside.

Local record

Three things on file about houses here

01

Two square miles, and a lighthouse since 1896

Sea Girt covers about two square miles with roughly 1,300 housing units in it, and the Sea Girt Lighthouse has stood over the borough since 1896. It is a small, dense, low-rise place rather than a sprawling township — which makes access, parking and where a van can actually stand a real part of planning a job here.

02

Cottages and bungalows at the core

The older stock leans to beach cottages and bungalows at the borough’s intimate scale, with larger houses layered in later. Cottage-scale buildings that have been extended and re-serviced over decades tend to hide their alterations: original runs left in place behind newer ones, and additions built to whatever standard applied at the time.

A National Guard training centre on the south side

The New Jersey National Guard Training Center occupies the southern end of the borough, which shapes the road pattern and what sits against the boundary there. For ordinary residential work it changes nothing about the permit, but it is worth knowing why the town stops where it does.

  • I’m so glad to have The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman out and repair my kitchen cabinets. The previous homeowner did not use the correct screws and even missed the studs on some of them. All secure and up to code now. He finished a little early and asked what else he could look at and cleaned out the tub drain too.

  • I called on The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman Services once again. This time I needed drywall repair. The texture that was applied to the ceilings during construction of this house — over time the texture started to release and some of it fell. I tried to repair this myself but had no luck. I’m not permitted to use ladders anymore since I have the tendency to fall off. That’s why I called the Handyman. He fixed all my texture that was falling. He also inspected the rest of my ceiling to check for any cracking so he could prevent another collapse. I have to tell you; this outfit is top notch.
