In short

What does a handyman handle in Tinton Falls?

Local record

Three things on file about houses here

01

One of the earliest ironworks in the colonies was here

The Tinton Manor ironworks was among the first established in this area and one of the earliest anywhere in the colonies — bog iron from the local ground, charcoal from the forests and water power from the falls themselves. The borough grew out of that, which is why a designated historic district sits inside a township that otherwise reads as postwar and modern.

02

Shark River Park runs along the southern edge

Shark River Park sits across Tinton Falls, Neptune and Wall, and the river system behind it drains a large area before it reaches the inlet at Belmar. Properties backing onto that watershed deal with run-off, grading and sump discharge rather than tidal flooding — a different problem from the one the shore boroughs downstream have.

03

A historic district inside a modern borough

The Tinton Falls Historic District preserves the old village core around the falls, while the bulk of the borough is later suburban development spread over a wide area. Two addresses here can be two centuries apart, so the street matters more than the town name.

  • I’m so glad to have The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman out and repair my kitchen cabinets. The previous homeowner did not use the correct screws and even missed the studs on some of them. All secure and up to code now. He finished a little early and asked what else he could look at and cleaned out the tub drain too.

  • I called on The Trusty Monmouth County Handyman Services once again. This time I needed drywall repair. The texture that was applied to the ceilings during construction of this house — over time the texture started to release and some of it fell. I tried to repair this myself but had no luck. I’m not permitted to use ladders anymore since I have the tendency to fall off. That’s why I called the Handyman. He fixed all my texture that was falling. He also inspected the rest of my ceiling to check for any cracking so he could prevent another collapse. I have to tell you; this outfit is top notch.
