Is refacing worth it compared with new cabinets?
It depends entirely on the boxes. If the carcasses are sound and the layout works, refacing changes everything you look at and touch while leaving the expensive, disruptive part alone. If the boxes are water-damaged or the layout is the actual problem, refacing is money going into something you are going to replace anyway.
My cabinet doors do not line up. Is that fixable?
Nearly always, and usually without new parts. Modern cupboard hinges adjust in three directions, so a run that has drifted out of line over years can generally be brought back in an afternoon. Where a hinge plate has pulled from the carcass, the fixing needs repairing first.
Can you fix water damage under the sink?
The cabinet floor, yes — that is a replaceable panel. The important part is finding what wetted it first, because a new base under an unresolved leak is a repair with an expiry date on it.
